Through the installation of two Avaya IP Office 500 systems together with 150 IP handsets and SIP trunks, NT has helped British Midlands International Airport (BMI) to link up its two main sites in order to improve both its internal communications and its interactions with its customers. It has further linked up its 150 remote workers across the UK through the system, bringing its operations even closer together.
The system makes use of Avaya’s impressive Flare software designed for touchscreen unified communications on mobile devices, togetherwith Small Community Networking, providing the system with intelligence for internal calling.
The busy airport’s communication systems suffered no downtime through the installation and the eight day deployment included full training-up of call centre managers. NT’s expert installation team installed the system in such a way that it led to no downtime for the airline’s communications systems. Now BMI plans to roll out the disaster recovery capabilities to more of its sites around the country, bringing the Company’s operations even closer together.
